Our Farm Jaycee Organics

The farm and the factory are located at Udayampuli village, which is around 25 Km from the renowned down south city of Thirunelveli in India.

The farm including the food processing facility covers a massive area of about 200 acres. The location of this farm is quiet strategic. It is well connected by road and rail with the rest of the country. The farm is just at a distance of 70 Km from Toothukudi, one of the biggest sea ports of India. Toothukudi is also the nearest airport, well connected with the other cities of India. Madurai airport, the nearest international airport is located a distance of 180 Km.

Jaycee agro farms possess two different types of soil.

The majority areas contain red soil. Red soil, is the most versatile soil for the growth of all types of fruits and vegetables. The second one is the black loamy soil which holds good for the growth of timber tress.

The climate is relatively hot and humid. The average temperature during summer ranges from 25°to 41°C and between 18°C to 29°C during rest of the year. The average relative humidity ranges from 70% to 85%. The average rainfall per annum is around 680 mm.

The farm is located very close to the perennial river Thamirabarani and this is one of the important sources of irrigation in this area. The water table is very good in this region because of the perennial flow of the Thamirabarani River.

All these features make this location the most ideal one for the establishment of Jaycee Agro Farms in this area.

Jaycee Agro farms possess several unique features that make it conducive for the cultivation of a wide range of fruits & vegetables.

Biodynamic farming, Organic manure production, rain water harvesting, percolation ponds, solar water pumps, integrated farming, drip irrigation, etc are a few to be mentioned.

Biodynamic farming is a holistic, ecological and ethical approach to farming, food and nutrition. Preparations made from fermented manure are used to restore and harmonize the vital life forces of the farm. Jaycee agro farm actively practices biodynamic farming and is also an active member of Biodynamic Association of India.

Jaycee Agro has an in house organic manure processing facility, where organic manures like Panchakavya, Fish Amino acid, etc are prepared. Jaycee Agro is constantly working on developing new forms of organic manure and pest control compositions.

Jaycee agro farms also cultivate green manures like Daincha, Sunhemp, etc. They are used to improve soil fertility organically.

Jaycee agro has an excellent water management system. Water from 4 open wells are used to irrigate the land. The water level in those wells is very good. In order to enhance the water table, 4 percolation ponds have been created. There is an excellent water channel system that flows across the farm. Check dams have been constructed to conserve water efficiently. A fool proof rain water harvesting system is in place. Drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation systems are in place to conserve water.

For the purpose of energy conservation, solar power driven pumps are used to pump water. Apart from this, solar power based lights have been installed all over the farm. Solar dryers are used to dry the fruits, vegetables and herbs for further processing. There is also a bio gas generation facility within the farm.

Jaycee agro efficiently practices integrated farming. Besides the cultivation of various fruits and vegetables, Jaycee agro is also involved in green manure cultivation and fodder cultivation. There is an in house dairy farm. The produces are used in the preparation of organic manure, besides being sold directly as fresh farm produce. There is also a poultry farm and fish pond. Bee keeping is practiced effectively for the production of organic honey.

As on date about 200 plus plant species can be seen in this farm. Indian Gooseberry prominently known as Amla is grown extensively in this farm. The processing facility produces a wide range of products based on Indian Gooseberry. Ready to drink Amla Juice, Amla Candy, Amla Preserve in Apple Cider Vinegar are a few inclusions.

Next to Amla, Moringa is grown extensively. Moringa is a traditional Indian energy secret, now adored as a super food across the world. The leaves are washed, spray dried, pulverized and packed as organic moringa leaf powder. Besides moringa leaf powder, the processing facility also produces moringa tea and moringa soup powder. These products have a worldwide demand.

Curry leaf is also grown extensively in the farm. They are either sold out as fresh produce or as solar dried organic curry leaf powder. Organic curry leaf powder is an excellent herbal medicine, besides being used for culinary purposes.

Lemon is also cultivated in a big manner. Lemon is processed into dried lemon slices and Lemon juice concentrate, besides being sold as a fresh produce.

A big mango grove produces a lot of tasty mangoes in the months of April, May, June and July. They are processed into mango energy bars and coated mango slices, besides being sold as a fresh produce.

There is a big coconut grove which produces lot of coconuts round the year. Coconut milk, desiccated coconut, etc are a few products produced by the processing facility. There is a plan to produce a ready to drink beverage based on coconut milk.

A lot of vegetables like Snake gourd, Bitter gourd, Bottle gourd, Ridge gourd, etc are cultivated through pandal cultivation technique. These fresh vegetable produces are sold directly. A small portion of the farm is also used to cultivate organic rice.

A wide range of timber including teak, casurina, chinaberry, beech wood, etc are grown in the farm.
